Concerts and Family time

Saturday night Celestra and her choir performed (once again) with the American Festival Chorus. They were part of the Chorus' evening with John Rutter. The children got to perform the debut of Rutter's 'Mass of the Children' in Cache Valley, and possibly Utah according to the Chorus' director Craig Jessop. Yes, the Craig Jessop, formerly of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir fame. The kids worked very hard and did amazing job.

Then on Sunday we got to spend a fun afternoon with the Brown Family. Dinner, cousins, games, and quality tiem with some of our favorite people means a wonderful end to a busy but rewarding week.

Trick-or-Treat

Well another years tricks and treats has come and gone and another year of fun costumes and dress-up times. This year was more relaxing than most for me at least. Celestra went out trick-or-treating with her friend Katie and I stayed at home and had a few friends over and we just hung out. A nice way to spend the holiday in my opinion.

Me as Pebbles Flintstone

My coworker Dotta as Bam-Bam Rubbles
(get the theme yet?)

Celestra as Cimorine from Enchanted Forest Chronicles
(Absolute proof that my child really is a bookworm)

It was a fun holiday for us. We hope you all had a great time as well. Till next time all you goblins, ghouls, fairy's, and princesses.

Sing, Play, and Share

Last night was Cache Children's Choir's Annual Sing, Play, and Share concert. Every year they invite a guest performer or group to join them and just have a good ol' time. This year it was a group of brothers called The 4 Hims. These guys were absolutely hillarious and the kids had a blast. I took tons of pictures of lots of the kids from choir (they are all on my facebook page if you really want to see them all) but I figured I would only post a few here. Enjoy everyone! And if you ever get a chance to see The 4 Hims, take it! You will love it!

So sweet. I think it might have been his first concert.

And now for a few videos from the concert. Sorry the sound quality isn't great but you'll get the general gist. So, ON WITH THE SHOW...

"Is it someones birthday?"

"No? Well oh well, we'll pretend that it is."

"Help there's a lolipop chasing me!"

"Is he really trying to play his trumpet in water? And are the other two really doing the Macarena?"

Have you died laughing yet today?

What happens when you combine three opening acts, hilarity, zany antics, piano and cello playing at its finest, and many quotes from the ever classic Princess Bride? Why a Jon Schmidt concert of course!

This evening Celestra and the Cache Children's Cantate Choir got to perform with Jon Schmidt here in Logan. What a blast! The kids had a great time, put on a great show, and then we all got to watch the man in action. And let me tell you, there is not a funner piano concert out there! At least to my knowledge. So if you ever get the opportunity to see him, take it! You will be sorely dissapointed if you don't.

A small (very small) update

Wow its been so crazy lately I haven't really had a chance to update. Not that we've done much worthy of blogging. Mostly its been work, school, choir, flute lessons, etc. You know, the normal daily grind with an active child.

I did, however, manage to take a few pictures from recent events. We had a good friend of mine come down for a visit so we joined her for lunch and then we also had the USU homecoming parade again this year. So... here are a few pics for your enjoyment!
