Hello Concert Season

Another holiday season is upon us. This year for Thanksgiving Celestra spent the day with her dad, Grandma Eiko, and a few others. Mine was spent with my mom and friend Tiffany. We enjoyed a nice casual day. But I will say this, Mom I DO NOT LIKE your oven. There, I have said it. I feel better and now I can move on.
Meg asks: "Where's my playmate Celestra?"
on Thanksgiving after her dad came and picked her up.
Now we move on into concert season. Celestra, once again this year, is singing in the Nutcracker chorus. Translation: mom has been running like crazy to get her to all of her rehearsals and performances. Whew tonight is the last night.

Now that the Nutcracker is at an end, you might think we get a bit of a break. Well I must disavow you of this notion. Celestra has four concerts and a caroling session in the next 2 weeks. Not to mention practices pretty much every other day. Thus the reason I have decided to label the next two weeks Concert Season.
For your viewing pleasure (and to make you feel a bit better about your own schedules), here is our schedule for the next two weeks (including tonight).

Concerts and Family time

Saturday night Celestra and her choir performed (once again) with the American Festival Chorus. They were part of the Chorus' evening with John Rutter. The children got to perform the debut of Rutter's 'Mass of the Children' in Cache Valley, and possibly Utah according to the Chorus' director Craig Jessop. Yes, the Craig Jessop, formerly of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir fame. The kids worked very hard and did amazing job.

Then on Sunday we got to spend a fun afternoon with the Brown Family. Dinner, cousins, games, and quality tiem with some of our favorite people means a wonderful end to a busy but rewarding week.

Trick-or-Treat

Well another years tricks and treats has come and gone and another year of fun costumes and dress-up times. This year was more relaxing than most for me at least. Celestra went out trick-or-treating with her friend Katie and I stayed at home and had a few friends over and we just hung out. A nice way to spend the holiday in my opinion.

Me as Pebbles Flintstone

My coworker Dotta as Bam-Bam Rubbles
(get the theme yet?)

Celestra as Cimorine from Enchanted Forest Chronicles
(Absolute proof that my child really is a bookworm)

It was a fun holiday for us. We hope you all had a great time as well. Till next time all you goblins, ghouls, fairy's, and princesses.
